Enjoy this extra-large tote bag that's perfect for any occasion, all year long. The bag is made from 100% genuine recycled laminate sailcloth. Each bag is 100% unique since it's cut from a different part of the sail. There may be imperfections in both the fabric and the stitching from the original sail but this adds to its charm.
This sail bag/tote is sturdy (think of the forces of wind upon it) and it's stitched with nylon sailmaker's thread, which is strong enough to hold a new sail together. The recycled sail bag is perfect as a reusable shopping bag, a weekend-getaway bag, a beach bag or to carry your sailing gear.
Included with each bag is a hand-made monkey fist knot charm (red), which you can move or remove if you prefer. Personalize your bag with an optional 3-initial monogram* in the same thread color as the contrast fabric.

SPECIAL NOTES:
While I do clean the sailcloth prior to making bags, when it was used as a sail on my 36' sailboat, the fabric has seen weather at sea and proudly wears her scrapes and scuffs. If you're looking for a pristine bag, you'll want to buy a brand-new bag because used sails do show wear (creases, scrapes, patches/repairs, possible marks, etc.). Of course, I discard any section of fabric that I would not want to carry around myself, which is next to nothing since I like to make use of old stuff rather than litter the planet with more junk.
Help our beautiful planet stay beautiful. Stuff like sailcloth which is synthetic material doesn't break down like organic stuff. So to dispose of it, it's either going to be in a landfill for eternity or be burned and create toxic exhaust. Let's reduce, reuse & recycle our way to a long-living, beautiful planet!

I LOVE MY Silver/Opaque Laminate Recycled Sailcloth Tote (Sports) Bag for many reasons…
First, this bag is just so pretty. I got the monogram too and it’s so classy. I love the shine and different reflective colors.
Second, this bag is so STURDY! I use it for my pickleball sports bag. I am real tough on tote bags, and usually just wait for them to shred.
Third, it doesn’t get dirty or stained!
Fourth, There’s room inside for a BIG water bottle, not the usual 8 oz expected size. There’s room for all my stuff I need. The size is perfect.
I love the pockets on side for keys or easy access anything, and the hearty snap closure if needed.
Fifth, I had never heard of a Monkey Knot before ordering this, but I love all things having to do with sailing. This really adds a cute and pretty touch!
One of my pickleball guy friends even knew what it was.
